When it Doubt…Sit it Out!
Here is another sad reminder of why it is so important to monitor, even “minor,” head impact. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Will Schooler died of impact he sustained in an urban ski accident. He and his fellow skiers thought his injury was minor and Will continued to ski on this night. The next morning, he was comatose and later died from injuries which initially seemed only “minor.” Read about the incident written by a friend on the newschoolers.com forum. Our thoughts are certainly going out to Will’s family and friends that are mourning the loss.
Will was not wearing a helmet, which may in this case have been a life saver for him.
